Treatment & Assessment
The outpatient programs are abstinence free and available in multiple options that range from a standard treatment program to a more aggressive approach. Each program uses a variety of treatment modalities. Every client receives a combination of group and personalized counseling session. These sessions are managed by counselors who utilize acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). During the treatment process, clients have regular drug testing and are encouraged to involve their loved one in the recovery process.
Upon entering the residential programs, clients are given an orientation. They also go through an assessment with staff that covers their health, social and psychological status. Following intake, clients are expected to attend five group counseling sessions each week. They are also encouraged to find full time employment within one week. For those involved in the extended residential care, there is a three phase system to support their needs. As clients move through the program phases, they earn more privileges.
The medical director of Serenity House Counseling Services manages a full treatment team. The team includes a full time staff of certified addiction counselors.
