Decision Point Center Rehab Overview
Decision Point Center is a residential addiction and substance abuse rehab center located in Prescott, Arizona. Just an hour north of Phoenix, AZ, the center is surrounded by breath taking mountains welcoming their clients on a daily basis. Decision Point Center is for both men and women from 18-24. They are a dual-diagnosis center offing mental health care for disorder such as Depression, anxiety, and PTSD as they occur with addiction. Decision Point does offer medical detox services on-site and also in Prescott Valley. Additionally, for those looking to stay in Arizona, they offer an outpatient rehab program (IOP) in Scottsdale, AZ.
Addiction Treatment at Decision Point Center
Decision Point Center offers different length of stays depending on the client’s need. Remember, 30 days is just the start, so the longer someone is in residential treatment, the more likely they are to remain sober using aftercare. Because of this, Decision Point Center offers 45-90 day residential holistic addiction treatment programs. They also offer program alternatives for clients that would rather not work a 12-step program.
Once admission is complete, each resident goes through a 15-day physical and psychological assessment. This process is used to create an individual treatment plan, based on the resident’s needs, not the general need of everyone. During this time, daily modalities are used to address the symptoms and underlying cause of the resident’s addiction. This is true holistic addiction treatment. These modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), life skills workshops, and family therapy along with a list of others.
Decision Point has the perfect location to enjoy the sun of Arizona. They offer twice-a-week outdoor therapy which includes activates like, Hiking, rock climbing, and equine therapy. They also offer daily workout times in the facility gym as well as Tai Chi and yoga to help clear the mind.
Accommodations & Amenities
Residents share two-bedroom apartments, which are comfortable and allow the resident to heal in a non-hospital environment. Residence shop for their own groceries and prepare meals with nutritionist supervision. This teaches the resident how to live in the real world, and to maintain a healthy body and mind.
Reviews and What We Think
The reviews on Decision Point Center are mixed. Something we noticed in all the reviews was the inability to handle bi-polar cases. We read a lot about a lack of aftercare program if you are not staying in Arizona. We learned that in 2015 the center underwent a large change by removing top level staff and bringing in new executives to focus on treatment, not money. Don’t get us wrong, this is still a business, but a lot of the negative reviews we read about are now handled. The center is doing everything it can to provide a safe environment for people seeking addiction treatment in Arizona. Like any center, they can’t handle EVERYTHING and the resident does need to take some responsibility, but from what we can tell, they are working hard to make what had happened in the past, never return. We give them 3.5 out of 5 stars for lack of aftercare follow-up for those outside of Arizona.
