Cedar Crest Hospital and Rehab Center Review

About Cedar Crest Hospital

Based in Belton, Texas, Cedar Crest Hospital provides treatment for substance abuse in residential settings. After more than 25 years of success, they recently expanded their services and partnerships to treat more patients across the globe.

They have been providing outpatient care for clients on the Partial-Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) levels for two years. In conjunction with their expansion, they also collaborated with Acadia Provider Network. The company runs several treatment facilities in the U.S. and UK. With their joint efforts, they are able to treat clients through their detox unit and provide services to adolescents and military veterans.

Cedar Crest Campus

During treatment, clients stay in state-of-the-art facility on 30-acres. Within the residential treatment facility, there are separate cottages for male and female housing. Each cottage is designed with modern décor and vibrant colors.

To get acquainted with their peers, every resident has a roommate. The rules do not permit clients to bring personal mobile phones or computers. They do , however, provide phones to allow them to call home. Family members are also allowed to schedule visits, but their "locked facility" policy does not allow clients to leave during treatment.

Key amenities on the campus are a picnic area, walking trails, and outdoor pool. Within the facility, they have designated recreation areas for each cottage. Guests can enjoy television, games, and our full fitness center.

Facility Dining and Nutritional Programs

At Cedar Crest, residents enjoy their meals as a community in the cafeteria. The staff is equipped to customize meals for special preferences. They'll also make provisions for residents with food allergies.

Hospital Staff and Treatment Programs

Cedar Crest hires the best physicians, nurses and Master's-level therapists, including LPCs, MSWs and MFTs. Most therapists are also dually-certified as LCDC addiction counselors. The therapy groups approach are solutions-focused modalities (CBT) and the 12-step framework.

Clients who need detox treatment will immediately report to the unit for three to seven days. Nurse staff and psychiatrists are available to all patients. They'll receive a comprehensive dual diagnosis in the hospital's behavioral health department. They also offer family therapy for loved ones to participate in counseling.

A typical day starts with reflection time and chores.  Clients spend most of the day in group and individual therapy. They end the day completing homework 12-step meetings on campus. The majority of residents will successfully complete their treatment plan in 28 days.

With their new partnership, adolescent patients continue their education on-site through University of Texas Charter School. The expansions also allow PTSD and cognitive injury treatment for military veterans.

After Facility Treatment

It's important to continue healthy habits and stay on track after treatment. Once the 28 days are complete, Cedar Crest recommends continuing offsite treatment. Cedar Crest provides outpatient programs and one-on-one counseling at our behavioral outpatient clinic near Killeen, Texas.
